Usage transition from Calamus SL

Mouse buttons
Calamus SL uses the right mouse button very intensively. It is not available with the default mouse in Apple computers. Even though many Mac users prefer mice with two or more buttons today, the Apple application interface concept is founded on a single button mouse.
While many edit modes can be toggled or switched off with a right mouse button click in Calamus SL, the edit modes in iCalamus are activated by tools and can be deactivated by pressing [Esc].
Modules
Calamus SL offers several modules for all standard and special cases. These modules can be compared with the iCalamus inspectors, but they are not the same. There is no frame editor module in iCalamus because these functions are partly divided into tools and inspectors.
Dialogs
Calamus SL uses mostly modal dialogs which have to be closed before you can continue working with your document. iCalamus uses very many non-modal window dialogs where you can change parameters and immediately see the changes in your document. You will recongise modal dilagues in iCalamus because they are 'glued' to another object, for example the document window.
Output
In Calamus SL, you can define many optional print and output parameters, like rasterization, color separation, imposition methods. This offers 'full control' on your document.
iCalamus uses another output philosophy: It hands the document over to the output routines of the operating system which then has to handle rasterization, color separation etc. on its own. You will find only a few output parameters which can be adjusted.
