Introduction

Welcome to the world of type-setting, welcome to Desktop Publishing with iCalamus!

Desktop Publishing (in short, DTP) was a buzzword in former times when the first Personal Computers learned to output more than just rough letter images for printing text. People then imagined that they could to do all the stuff which is necessary for publishing a printed work at home on their desktop, with a single computer and a connected printer, with high resolution images, photographs and graphics included.

DTP became a reality long ago. Computers now have enough power to handle even gigantic image data quantities. The currently available high resolution vector fonts offer top quality. And there are various tools which help to get high quality results in DTP as easily as possible.

We are pleased that you have decided to use iCalamus. With iCalamus, you have chosen software which offers an easy approach to DTP. This manual will also help you to discover and understand iCalamus and its possibilities.
